Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Faculty Opening
Sustainability and the Built Environment

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure line faculty position at the level of an Assistant or untenured Associate Professor who will:

    ?
  • Develop the scientific basis and engineering methods to promote the development of a sustainable built environment, including buildings, infrastructure, renewable energy systems and smart grids; and ?
  • Educate future academic and industry leaders to master and apply these theories and methods.

Applications are encouraged from candidates with scholarly interests in the full range of disciplines that can contribute to advancing engineering, science and practice for the planning, design, construction and operations of the built environment. The successful candidate will be expected to support the CEE Department’s strategic goal of Engineering for Sustainability and engage with colleagues and activities of the Sustainable Built Environment Initiative of the Woods Institute for the Environment and the Precourt Institute for Energy. If appropriate, the successful candidate may be considered for a joint appointment between CEE and another department in the School of Engineering.
