Merrick & Company is looking for a Structural Engineer for our Los Alamos, New Mexico office to serve as the lead structural engineer for advanced technology type projects for the Department of Energy (DOE).
This position will be located in Los Alamos, a small community located in the scenic high desert of Northern New Mexico. Los Alamos offers a low crime rate, access to a wealth of outdoor activities, and an excellent public school system.
We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer capable of supporting multiple projects in multiple roles. When assigned tasks, the candidate will work independently to perform detailed design on projects using MathCAD, MS Office and finite element analysis software while staying within established schedule and budget, and coordinating with other disciplines. When assigned as Lead Structural Engineer on projects, the candidate will establish design criteria, manage the work schedule, coordinate multidiscipline technical aspects, monitor scope and budget, and delegate work to other engineers on the project. Additionally, the candidate will assist in the development of proposals and marketing.
This candidate will support equipment and facility structural designs and projects for the Los Alamos National Laboratory using DOE design standards and codes.
