We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Discipline Leader for our Jacksonville, FL office to be fully responsible for managing, planning and executing the activities and efforts for all aspects of the Aviation programs mechanical engineering services group. This group is comprised of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection professionals tasked with delivering state of the art building’s engineering system solutions to our clients in the aviation related industries. Responsibilities range from scoping and proposal development, client management, project management, maintaining overall budget and profitability targets mechanical systems engineering group, staff development/retention and managing the resultant projects through construction administration to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the development and implementation of LEED and other sustainable projects. The duties will include the directing the mechanical team on technical design objectives on each aviation project, oversight of the production of mechanical systems construction documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings and for renovations and additions to existing facilities, create and maintain project schedules for the mechanical efforts, ensure coordination of project designs with other disciplines, act as a “mechanical subject matter expert" for sustainable building and site mechanical systems, execute specific engineering studies and design analyses, oversee on - site inspections during construction and coordinate design requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers. This position will report directly to the Aviation Program’s Buildings Leader.


Requirements
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position. The preferred candidate qualifications include:

* Bachelor of Science in BSME and/or MSME with ten (10) years minimum mechanical engineering consulting and analysis experience.

* LEED accreditation is required.

* ASHRAE certification as a Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP) or the ability to obtain such certification immediately is highly desirable.

* Extensive knowledge of the design and operation of mechanical systems for buildings as they relate to aviation facilities is a plus. Applicable project types include commercial and general aviation terminals, general aviation support facilities such as ARFF and SRE facilities, storage, maintenance and manufacturing hangars.

* Application knowledge and thorough design capability the development of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building automation and controls systems is required.

* Ability to meet and interface with clients to manage projects, develop new scopes of work, conduct studies and present results.

* Experience in developing new business opportunities.

* Knowledge of building and energy codes as well as energy and commissioning standards.

* Experience with energy modeling of new construction and existing building renovations.

* Experience in performing energy analysis and life cycle cost analysis and presenting recommendations in both a written and oral format.

* Excellent Working knowledge of Trane Trace, Carrier HAP or Energy Plus simulation software.

* Professional Registration required with expectation of ability to register in additional states.
