The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of University of Houston invites applications or nominations for a tenure-track faculty position in environmental engineering, water resources, and hydrosystems. Candidates at all ranks will be considered, but those at the Professor/Associate Professor levels are preferred. We seek an individual with a sustained record of exemplary professional achievement as indicated by outstanding teaching, significant sponsored research and publications along with major professional leadership activities. The candidate will take an active role in expanding on the current research strength in environmental and water engineering and in developing new research initiatives.
The anticipated start date of this appointment is August 2010. A PhD in civil or environmental engineering or related field is required. The University of Houston is a public university with 29,000 undergraduate and 8,000 graduate students located in a 550-acre park-like setting a few minutes from downtown Houston. The average annual research expenditures for the Department are $2.4 million with 14 faculty expected to grow to 24 by 2012.
