Based in Kamloops, a hotbed of outdoor activities, the position offers the opportunity for the right candidate to fill a senior leadership role in our British Columbia practice.
Reporting to the Regional Offices Manager (British Columbia) and working collaboratively within the British Columbia practice, your responsibilities may include but won’t necessarily be limited to:
Providing technical leadership including providing direction for environmental site assessment, property development and remediation projects under British Columbia Contaminated Sites Regulations (CSR)
Overseeing quality control including review and approval of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets
Project management and successful execution of environmental site assessments, remediation programs and contaminated site projects, including the development and maintenance of project scopes, schedules and budgets, and supervision of project staff
Client management, including communication through verbal and written correspondence
Management, development and supervision of junior staff supporting project activities
Interpretation of environmental regulations and investigation results to successfully meet the client requirements
Collaborate with senior staff within Western Canada to develop and implement group growth strategies
Leading pursuits for contaminated sites and related opportunities
Monitoring, mentoring, and leading the growth of team members
Providing field coordination and technical oversight of projects
Opportunity to collaborate with other Amec Foster Wheeler offices/environmental staff on projects in Western Canadian
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution plus appropriate continuing education in environmental science or engineering, geology, soil science or equivalent.
Current registration as a P.Eng. or P.Geo with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia is preferred. CSAP registration desirable.
15 years + consulting experience conducting environmental site assessments, contaminated site investigations and remediation projects.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Provincial contaminated sites legislation, regulations and processes.
Experience in addressing CSR requirements during property development.
Desire to provide exceptional client service and a commitment to technical excellence.
Demonstrated supervisory experience and hands-on training of junior personnel, experience and formal training in environmental due diligence, contaminated site investigation, remediation, waste management, risk assessment or related technical areas.
Effectively communicate verbally and written with existing company clients and internal Amec Foster Wheeler staff.
Strong writing skills are a must to prepare reports, proposal and other project deliverables.
