The Quality Manager position is a “hands-on” role that develops, implements and manages our quality control systems designed to ensure continuous quality production (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals). The position supervises a team of quality personnel.

Ensures the highest level of internal and external customer service possible.
Investigates (and corrects) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
Supervises workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
Provides technical and statistical expertise to teams.
Formulates, documents and maintains quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for quality standards.
Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
Manages Quality portion of APQP process.
Creates, documents and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel within company.
Provides, and oversees, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
Interacts with suppliers to ensure quality of all purchased parts.
Creates and directs environmental test functions and applications.
Maintains an active role on internal continuous improvement teams.
Designs, develops and implements quality control training programs.
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 45+ hours per week. As a senior level Manager position requires support outside of business hours based on teams’ needs.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience
B.S. degree or equivalent experience/education combination.
Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). Note: Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr) is preferred.
Expert knowledge of TS16949.
Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, 5 why’s, Fish Bone Analysis, etc.).
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, project management and facilitation skills.
Computer proficiency in MS Office as well as detailed knowledge of FMEA/PPAP/APQP/MSA and SPC.
Position requires strong leadership and administration skills.
Contributing member of the management team.
Minimum 10 years of experience in a Tier II Automotive Manufacturing Environment
Minimum of 3-5 years of Quality Management Systems experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
B.S. degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
3-5 years of experience as a Quality Manager in a metal cutting, production machining environment.
