We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the Pulp & Paper sector. The successful candidate is responsible for project delivery and the preparation of industrial engineering designs and related documents for heavy industrial facilities. This will include developing proposals, project estimates, defining project scope, coordinating project resources, identifying scope changes, review and approval of invoices, internal and external communication of project status and progress, ownership of overall project outcome (safety, quality, financial, schedule and client satisfaction). You will manage client relations at both a technical and commercial level in order to achieve client satisfaction and leverage further opportunities.

15+ years of progressive experience executing and managing industrial projects that include multidisciplinary engineering, preferably in the Pulp & Paper sector
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
Have a PE license or the ability to obtain one within 1 year of employment. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desired
Previous experience with process plant design from initial study to detail design phase is required
Proven ability to lead multi-discipline team located in multiple offices and managing the deliverables.
Pulp and Paper knowledge with an understanding of the process steps within a pulp mill
Experience working in a Pulp & Paper mill environment is highly desired Proven proposal management experience – with a track record of crafting winning large proposals
Client focus – demonstrated capability to effectively develop, maintain and nature strong relationships with clients
Judgment – proven ability to understand business issues and weigh alternative actions, making economic decisions that incorporate opinions, facts, along with tangible and/or intangible factors.
Decision making – detailed knowledge of and able to use effective approaches for choosing an economic course of action or develop appropriate solutions and/or reach conclusions. Proven ability to take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences.
Negotiator – demonstrated success identifying and understanding client goals, interests, limitations and leverage. Formulates strategy that explores alternatives, settlement ranges, opening position and concession path; implementing that strategy to reach outcomes that gain support and acceptance of all parties.
Adaptability – Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-term goals
Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written)
Proven ability to interact with clients and to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
Technical competence and strong attention to detail
Ability to travel within the region, up to 40%
Proficient with MS Office suite of software
Proficient with resource and cost loaded scheduling including the use of MS Project.
