Under limited supervision, facilitate process improvements within the organization and determine root cause product failure using data analysis and application of Advanced Quality Management and Statistical Process Control tools. Partner with material suppliers to establish and ensure quality specifications, investigate and resolve non-conformance issues. Calibrate process equipment to establish consistency and accuracy in specification adherence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyzes manufacturing processes, identifies opportunities for process improvements, scrap minimization and improved efficiency using Advanced Quality Management tools, including Statistical Process Controls (SPC).
Communicates recommendations to management and partners with manufacturing to lead the implementation of those enhancements.
Manages, analyzes and conducts various activities associated with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) undertakings within the organization
Applies metrology principles and concepts to calibrate inspection, measuring and test equipment and ensure consistent and successful adherence to manufacturing equipment specifications for product conformity.
Recommends appropriate solutions based on the root cause product failure analysis.
Sustains calibration database and monitors required calibration timelines to meet equipment maintenance schedules and standards.
Facilitates repairs of any calibration tools and/or equipment by contacting 3rd party vendors, confirming repairs and verifying equipment functionality.
Partners with Quality Manager and/or Engineer in the management of Product Certification programs such as NSF, etc.
Serves as Internal Auditor and conducts related activities in ISO 9001 certification.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science degree Mechanical Engineering, Quality Control and/or Business Administration; and 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with ISO 9001 certification, a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
Working knowledge with Total Quality Management Tools and practical application of theories such as Root Cause/Corrective Action, Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Solid knowledge in metrology principles, concepts and application of those techniques.
Experience with various methods used to calibrate flow meters, thermometers, pressure gauges, vacuum gauges, go/no-go gauges, balance scales, pH meters, conductivity meters, thickness gauges, salinity meters, viscometers, calipers, micrometers and rulers or ability to learn these skills.
Working knowledge of engineering drawings and product specifications as well as experience in maintaining product certification marks.
Strong language skills with the ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals as well as communicate technical terms to non-technical employees.
Intermediate ability to apply basic algebraic and geometric concepts and read/interpret geometric tolerances with basic ability to use the metric system.
Strong ability to apply critical thinking skills and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Strong data entry skills with a high-degree of accuracy as well as advanced organizational skills and detail-oriented.
Strong interpersonal skills to work within and across a functional matrix organization and the ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment and work independently.
Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) applications including JD Edwards.
