FACULTY POSITION IN TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) in the College of Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank to be filled by August 2018. The Department is looking for outstanding individuals in transportation engineering with special emphasis in intelligent transportation systems covering topics such as automation, connected vehicles, accessible transportation technologies, sensor based infrastructure, roadway electrification for smart cities and other emerging transportation technologies. A strong transportation planning and traffic engineering background is also required.
The selected candidate is expected to build successful, externally-funded research programs in collaboration with other units in the department, the College of Engineering, the College of Science, and across the University. Applicants must demonstrate a creative vision for original research. The selected candidate must be able to (1) develop an externally funded and recognized research program; (2) supervise graduate students; (3) teach undergraduate and graduate classes in CEE; (4) work with others across disciplinary boundaries; (5) show a commitment to inclusion and diversity; and (6) serve the department, College of Engineering, and the University.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering/Intelligent Transportation Systems, or related areas with outstanding academic credentials that clearly demonstrate their ability to conduct independent and successful research in their areas of expertise and to build cross-disciplinary research programs.
