We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Project Engineers for our Phoenix, Arizona office. This position will function as part of a Transportation Design team with the ability to be a Project Engineer on small to large transportation, solar, flood control, municipal and commercial projects and also to assist in marketing efforts. The primary role is to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design of street and highway drainage facilities including but not limited to storm drain systems, culverts, retention/detention basins, ditches and channels. Successful applicant will have experience in preparing and supervising final design tasks including plans, specifications and cost estimates. Responsibilities will also include marketing local agencies, design criteria compliance, quality control for transportation and public works drainage.
Work independently and supervise others to prepare final design plans and specifications, perform advanced hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, write and assemble drainage reports
River mechanics, erosion and scour calculations and sediment transport training/experience a plus
Experience working in a team environment is very important
Should have the ability to take and to give design direction depending upon role on a given project
Client marketing and preparation of proposals with assistance will be significant in this position
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 4 years of design experience
Arizona P.E. Registration is required. California PE is a plus. In not AZ PE, then the ability to achieve AZ PE Registration through reciprocity is required
Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads, StormCAD, FlowMaster, Storm and Sanitary, HEC-RAS (stdy/unstdy) & HEC-1, Flo-2D is desired
Experience using Project Wise or other file management/file sharing software is a plus
Working Conditions and Environment:
This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally uses advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances.
