Under the direction of a Project Manager, assists staff with introductory engineering and planning tasks; compiling data; preparing plans and specifications; and other duties as assigned.  Performs basic analysis and design functions in the areas of roadways; bridge or drainage structures; as well as traffic control and storm sewers.  Assists in field traffic studies and performs calculations to prepare contractor pay estimates relative to highway projects.  Analyzes planning activities, traffic studies; design and construction engineering; with a focus on transportation-related projects in support of the department staff and may be required to work at off-site locations.
