Construction Technology Innovation
The Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) seek applicants for a nine-month tenure-track/tenured faculty position in the field of construction management and/or engineering. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: building information modeling (BIM), geographical information systems (GIS), remote sensing, visualization, data acquisition systems, data mining, or smart buildings with integrated or net-zero systems. This faculty member will provide leadership as the Del E. Webb School of Construction and the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment grows its efforts in the areas of innovations in the design, delivery, monitoring, and rehabilitation of facilities and sustainable construction in the built environment.
SSEBE is a multidisciplinary school with research and teaching interests spanning a wide range of topics related to the Grand Challenge of sustainability, including: construction management and engineering, structural and materials engineering, transportation systems engineering, infrastructure and urban systems and air and water resources.
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field. Required qualifications also include demonstrated evidence of research capability and commitment to teaching excellence as appropriate to the candidate’s rank. Faculty members are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, teach graduate and undergraduate courses in construction management and engineering, advise students, and undertake service activities. Desired qualifications include field experience focused in construction. The originality and promise of each candidate’s work are higher priorities than the specific sub-area of research.
Appointment will be at the assistant, associate or full professor rank commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments, beginning August 2014. Although the appointment may be in any of Fulton Engineering’s five schools, the successful candidate will most likely to be placed in the Del E. Webb School of Construction (DEWSC) programs, within the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (SSEBE).
