The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is responsible for building, maintaining and operating the state's road, bridges, tunnels and ferries. VDOT is seeking a multi-talented individual to lead and guide the Project Controls and Contract Administration functions of the Bristol District. Serve as the District Lead in Project Controls including the development of CEI Budgets, monitoring expenditures, and developing and monitoring construction schedules. Lead district review team in conducting constructability/bidability for all advertised projects. Assist in the successful delivery of the Construction Program by ensuring construction and maintenance contracts are "On budget" and "On time". Provide oversight to contract administration staff to ensure timely completion of project payments, accurate completion of pay estimates, and detailed record keeping. Oversee finals consultant to ensure proper reconciliation of project documentation prior to finalization of the contractor pay estimate. Review and monitor project schedules for compliance with Road and Bridge Specifications; and assist the District Construction Engineer in evaluating district-wide progress relative to statewide quality measures such as On-Time, On-Budget, CQIP, and ECR metrics. Monitor these metrics and develop and implement improvement measures where needed to consistently produce construction projects that meet or exceed the current State CQIP and Environmental Compliance goals.
