AMEC Environment & Infrastructure’s Burnaby, BC office has an opportunity for an Occupational Hygiene & Safety Specialist. The successful candidate will provide Health, Safety and Environment services to AMEC clients. Manage occupational hygiene and safety projects and prepare reports, health and safety plans, safe work procedures, exposure control plans, and other deliverables.
Conduct risk assessments and occupational hygiene assessments in various sectors including but not limited to clean energy, oil & gas, mining, manufacturing, commercial, and government.
Assess buildings for various hazardous materials including asbestos, lead, PCBs, mercury components, ozone-depleting substances, and suspect visible mould growth.
Conduct reviews of building mechanical ventilation systems and monitor for various indoor air quality parameters.
Conduct training in Occupational Hygiene and Safety topics such as hazardous materials, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), confined space, fall protection, and chemical, biological, or physical hazards.
Network with clients to develop work opportunities.

Bachelor or Master of Science or Engineering in Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene, or related discipline.
Certification or working towards certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
8+ years experience in Occupational Hygiene and/or Environmental Health and Safety field.
Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Enthusiasm and commitment to technical excellence.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt and work in a team environment.
Flexibility with respect to remote work and travel.
