Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support our private sector, locate, state and federal clients nationwide. This full-time position will be located at Marine Corps Base - Quantico (MCBQ) in Quantico, Virginia and will report to our Chantilly, Virginia office.

The candidate will provide technical evaluation and implementation for various environmental programs and deliverables
The candidate shall be comfortable preparing for and facilitating meetings, preparing meeting notes, data gathering and analysis, performing inspections and assessments, document writing and preparation, monthly progress reporting and be accountable to work independently within the framework of existing environmental programs. Strong organizational, communication and data management skills are essential
The candidate shall provide recurring Environmental Management System (EMS) Support / Implementation and conduct site assessments in order to locate environmental practices for Marine Corps Base - Quantico's (MCBQ) Practice Aspect Impact (PAI) inventory. All requirements are structured to work with the existing chain?of?command of MCBQ’s environmental team, EMS relationships, and resources aboard MCBQ. The EMS aspect of the SOW encompasses two major ongoing components:
(1) EMS Support and Implementation - EMS Support and Implementation component involves EPCRA tracking and reporting, evaluate and report on sustainability practices, development of Environmental Action Plans (EAPs), updating Environmental Standard Operating Procedures (ESOPs), preparing EMS-related briefs, and coordinating / assisting in preparation of an Internal Environmental Compliance Evaluation (ECE) for MCBQ
(2) Practice Aspect Impact (PAI) evaluation - PAI Evaluation component involves updating the facility’s PAI inventory which identifies and documents environmental activities and practices that impact the environmental and its recourses. The installation implements a documented procedure known as the PAI Inventory and Scoring Module for inventorying practices and updates as they are altered, discontinued or added. The candidate must conduct site assessments and inspections in order to gather updates for the PAI Inventory. The candidate must locate current environmental practices, evaluate their aspects, and risk score the subsequent impacts for those practices. The candidate will update the PAI inventory with findings and prepare a comprehensive risk ranking.
Skills / Qualifications
BA or BS in Environmental Policy, Science, Engineering, Geology or related field
5+ years of experience in environmental consulting, specifically in compliance or auditing
Knowledge of environmental management systems (EMS) and environmental compliance evaluations
Knowledge of federal environmental compliance regulations
Knowledge of Virginia environmental compliance regulations
Experience performing environmental compliance evaluations and understanding of military environmental management systems is a plus
Technical understanding of existing and emerging environmental laws, regulations, standards (i.e. ISO) and executive orders (EOs) is a plus
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
