JOB SUMMARY: Lead the development of a world class supplier base by ensuring that supplier capability is aligned with both external and internal customer requirements. Investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & TASKS • Work with Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented • Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule • Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement • Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTC, DPPM and waste • Establish specific short / long term supplier quality goals • Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non?conformances • Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply • Develop long?term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas • Aide Manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined new product development process • Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting Euramax requirements. Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6?Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events • Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Communicate engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teams • Actively manage suppliers to ensure there are no regressions with the implementation of new processes • Aide in the new, probationary and rejected supplier transition processes • Travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems, travel requirements estimated at 50%-70% • Assure compliance to all applicable legal requirements pertaining to the environmental aspects and impacts. Work to help achieve the performance goals established in the environmental measurement areas. Offer suggestions that can lead to improved environmental performance whenever possible Authority: • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non?conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems • Identify and record any problems relating to the product process and quality system • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels • Verify the implementation of solutions
QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform this job successfully. Equivalent job-related experience might be substituted for educational degree(s).
Education: Four (4) year Bachelor degree in engineering or manufacturing field preferred, or similar related field.
Experience & Skills: • 5 -10 years of related experience and/or training in manufacturing settings • Knowledge of various quality system methodologies 8D, Lean, SPC, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, etc. preferred • Familiarity and/or working knowledge with TS16949 • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with diverse groups of people and be able to function independently of direct supervision • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office applications • Strong problem solving skills • Understanding of project management (experience preferred) • Must have a valid driver’s license in good-standing, up to date passport and the ability to travel abroad • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. • Speaking — Talking to others to convey information effectively. • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. • Monitoring — Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. • Social Perceptiveness — Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. • Coordination — Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. • Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. • Negotiation — Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences. • Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
