Assist senior engineer and project team members in the development of environmental remediation reports, reviews, calculations and numerical methods of data analysis
Assist senior engineer and project team with safe implementation, subcontractor and stakeholder management during geologic / hydrogeological studies and remedial actions field programs
Use geological reasoning and numerical modeling skills to help build detailed conceptual site models for sediments and upland remediation problems
With guidance and mentoring of senior engineer, manage and analyze large environmental datasets with databases and technical software, prepare plots and quantitative summaries and document analytical methods
Learn and stay up-to-date on guidance, state and federal environmental regulations, reviews and methods relevant to the management and remediation of upland and contaminated sediment sites
Maintain and develop vendor and other professional contacts
Deliver processed data in organized fashion, following data management and network standards
Participate in training events, project meetings and engineering team meetings
Work and travel safely, follow company and site safety standards, maintain permits and training certificates
Learn and practice company codes for ethics and business conduct
Grow as a consultant, demonstrating ability to manage multiple projects at one time while building successful client relations
Skills / Qualifications
BS and / or MS in Geological Engineering or related engineering degree or Geology with hydrogeology emphasis
Strong interest in working on problems in the environmental, hydrogeological and water resources areas including problems associated with remediation of contaminated sediments, soils and groundwater
0 to 3 years experience in engineering or hydrogeology field
Must be a self starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexible to work outside normal business hours as required
Willingness to travel to project sites in Midwestern US. Approximately 15% travel including some overnight travel
Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy
Experience with ArcGIS and other technical software (such as MODFLOW, EVS, MATLAB) interest in field work
Coursework and experience with hydrogeology, geologic interpretation, geotechnical engineering and groundwater contaminant fate and transport
Candidates with strong mathematical and numerical computing and programming skills may be preferred. Candidate should be ready to provide examples of skills with groundwater modeling software, computer programming and / or mapping and plotting software
EIT and interest in pursuing state licensure as Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist
Interest and experience in environmental site field work with 40 hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
