This position is responsible for all quality management system related activities. He/she assures consistent quality of product by developing, implementing and demonstrating compliance with the quality system. Additionally, this position supervises the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (Testing and Measurement) department staff. This position is identified as the quality management system representative.
Manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (Testing and Measurement) Departments
Provide coaching, counseling, advice, support and motivation to the team to help them achieve quality objectives
Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the Quality System
Promote awareness of customer requirements and quality management system throughout the facility
Regularly interact directly with all members of the organization:
Help maintain a positive, collaborative, and customer-centric culture
Solicit feedback and suggestions
Report on achievements, successes, and challenges
Clearly communicate strategy and policy to the organization
Drive change initiatives to create and sustain continuous improvement
Responsible for the creation of reports documenting compliance with the quality system
Identify areas where compliance is lacking; works with work group supervisors and management to achieve compliance
Identify and prioritize high-value improvement projects
Ensure appropriate training programs are developed, consistently implemented, and appropriately documented
Ensures that customer complaints are investigated and acted on
Provide guidance and support for internal audit program and second party audits
Collaborate and coordinate with QSD in regards to third party audits
Develop and monitor the Quality Program budget
Five years of experience in QA systems implementation and management in a medium-size manufacturing environment. Optics background preferred
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related field or equivalent experience
Demonstrated self-starter with prior experience successfully leading multiple projects.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills/able to work with a diverse group of people effectively.
Ability to analyze and resolve problems
Ability to work effectively with all individuals/groups within the organization
