The award-winning City of Charlotte, North Carolina (population approximately 800,000) is recruiting nationally for a City Engineer to lead and manage a large, full-service Engineering and Property Management Department. Reporting directly to an Assistant City Manager, the City Engineer leads a group of approximately 475 full-time employees and oversees an operating budget of approximately $50 million, with a FY2017 CIP of over $100 million, and $500 million in active capital projects.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience as a registered professional engineer and a minimum of 6 years of leadership experience. A valid North Carolina Professional Engineer License is required by the time of application, or equivalent transferable license from another state, which must be converted to North Carolina Registration within 3 months following appointment.
