Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a construction inspector. Responsibilities include observation of construction contracts for MnDOT projects; reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications; reviewing contractor submittals for constructability and compliance; measuring, calculating and documenting quantities; and maintaining daily construction logs. Travel to construction sites is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.
Successful candidates will have an associate degree (or higher) in engineering or a related field from an accredited secondary institution plus at least three years of relevant experience, OR, if no degree, must have at least five years of relevant work experience.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: MnDOT construction administration experience; MnDOT certifications in grading and base, bituminous surface treatments, and concrete field testing; construction contract administration experience; construction staking or field survey experience; design software experience.
