Hofstra University Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering & Applied Science Engineering Postdoctoral Fellowship in Bioengineering/Cell & Tissue Engineering
Hofstra University’s Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science seeks to fill an anticipated postdoctoral position for a PhD level bioengineer/scientist in Hofstra’s Cell and Tissue Engineering Laboratory. Upon satisfactory completion of the two-year position, the candidate will be considered for a tenure-track faculty position in Bioengineering Department.
The candidate is expected to focus on identifying how micro-environmental cues, including biomechanical stimulation, influence vascular endothelial cells. Extensive experience with tissue culture, cell and molecular biology, fluorescent imaging and flow cytometry is required. Past research experiences in atomic force microscopy and microfluidic devices and vascular biology is preferred. The successful applicant will be required to train undergraduate students in these procedures. The Lab is equipped with an AFM, Fluorescent Microscope, Flow Cytometer, Microfluidic Systems and qPCR machine. Applicants should be capable of independent experimental design and manuscript preparation.
