Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Production Engineering Environmental Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Senior Manager.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide Environmental Functional Leadership for Toyota’s North American Manufacturing plants and Research & Development facilities.
Reporting to the General Manager, the person in this role will support the Environmental Engineering department's objective to seek out new methods and strategies to engage the Organization in Toyota’s Environmental vision and mission to achieve company targets and Key Performance Indicator’s.
What you’ll be doing
Lead the Manufacturing and Research & Development facilities in Environmental Strategy development and Systems implementation that meets both Regulatory compliance as well as Company performance targets and goals.
Develop strategies for Plant Permitting and manage the Environmental Agency approvals for all construction and process implementations across the company.
Oversight responsibility for Environmental Regulatory issues and Compliance to permitting requirements (Federal, State, Provincial, and Local regulations) while providing necessary communications throughout all levels of the organization.
Create mid-long term Environmental Strategies for North America to enhance environmental operations through proven leadership, technical skill, and the development of effective environmental management systems.
Support, train, and develop team members while eliminating technical road blocks that stand in the way of achieving success. Ensure team members understand the relationship between Environmental regulations in North America and the impact they have on the Automotive Manufacturing plants and Research & Development sites.
Investigate and develop Environmental Standards to reduce Manufacturing risk and obtain Environmental permissions necessary to support projects up to $1.0 Billion.
Create and implement Environmental Strategies to improve Manufacturing performance (CO2, VOC, Waste) within Production Engineering Shops, North American Manufacturing Companies, Toyota Motor Corporation and in PLE-Facilities.
Provides Environmental Council to Executives and drives performance, development and strategies through professional communications at a Global, Regional, and Plant level.
What you bring
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences
Industry experience managing Environmental Activities
Project Management Experience developing strategies and project schedules, monitoring work, providing feedback and reporting status
People Management experience (Direct Reports, Professional Staff/Technicians/Vendors)
Added bonus if you have:
Experience in the automotive industry
Experience in local environmental operations
Professional Engineering License
Fluent in Spanish
Demonstrated leadership and commitment to the Environmental Engineering Profession
Active Involvement in trade industry organizations
