Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has one or more full-time position(s) available for highly motivated entry-level engineers. The position(s) will be based in Lexington, Charleston, and/or Myrtle Beach. Responsibilities include construction inspection of highway and/or building construction projects; assisting with project management duties such as scheduling and contractor/client meeting coordination; calculating contractor pay estimates; and project invoicing. This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.
Successful candidates will have will have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or related field from an accredited school, or be able to obtain the degree within six months of start date.
Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following: construction inspection experience; SCDOT and/or NCDOT inspector certifications for transportation (roadway/bridge) construction projects; ICC and NICET certifications (special inspections, code inspections, and material testing for building construction); proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with tasks such as scheduling, meeting coordination, calculating contractor pay estimates, project invoicing.
