The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applicants for one faculty position in the area of Transportation Engineering/Systems, preferably at the level of Assistant Professor, but higher ranks will be considered. Visiting faculty positions in all ranks will also be considered for one year appointment, extendable to two years.

Applicants for this position should hold a Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering or Systems. Candidates with research interest in traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems and transformational technologies, mathematical modeling and operations research applications in transportation, sustainability and resilience of multimodal transportation systems, and/or transportation infrastructure management are particularly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved with current faculty engaged in various Transportation Engineering/Systems areas, and utilize the facilities of the Jouzy Transportation Engineering Lab and in the Holcim Pavement Materials Lab, and to engage in inter and multidisciplinary research in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. The successful applicant will teach at both the undergraduate level (Highway Engineering and Transportation Engineering) and graduate level (in his/her field of specialization), advise and mentor graduate students, develop an independent externally funded research program, participate in all aspects of the department’s activities, and serve the profession.
