The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District, which serves a population of over 340,000 in the greater Madison, Wisconsin area, is seeking a Director of Ecosystem Services. The Director provides leadership to envision and execute next generation water quality and resource recovery solutions. The position oversees District functions including resource recovery, source reduction, laboratory services, and regulatory performance and manages an annual budget of $4.2 million and a staff of 17 employees.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred, in environmental studies, natural sciences, environmental engineering, water resource management or related fields and ten years of progressively responsible management positions with strong leadership credentials, including five years of supervisory experience. Qualified candidates must demonstrate a global, holistic perspective on water issues and a record of translating vision to action. Proven ability to build strategic alliances across sectors, to nurture long-term community relationship, and to identify and implement new approaches to achieve improved environmental outcomes is essential.
