Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure's Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a junior level Civil Designer candidate with advanced computer aided design (CAD) skills and meaningful experience in engineering and infrastructure design to support the Infrastructure Branch, primarily the Civil / Site Development practice group. Primary focus for project work will be to prepare construction drawings for land development infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities •Support civil site development projects and clients with accurate drafting and design •Design or redesign complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from project team •Create exhibits and documents for presentations and reports •Work with project team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs and make corrections to drawings as requested by the senior staff •Create and update database of design records for reference and utilization on future projects •Adhere to discipline-specific CAD standards
Skills / Qualifications •Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering or construction field •Engineering-in-Training certification preferred •A minimum of 3 years of experience preparing design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D related to construction plan development, including plan, profile, and detail views •MicroStation InRoads experience a plus, but cannot be the only known design platform •Mathematic skills, including basic understanding and use of geometry and trigonometry •Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing •Proficiency in MS Office •Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings •Ability to read, understand and interpret, contours, topographic mapping, and data generated by land surveyors •Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
