Manhattan Beach, the city of “Sun, Sand, and Sea” is a vibrant, engaged community, located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. The City of Manhattan Beach population (35,726) offers residents a pleasant, peaceful living environment as well as easy access to the many recreational activities available in Southern California. In addition to its popular coastline, the community is home to large numbers of Tourist and family-oriented events, such as Manhattan Beach Open volleyball, the International Surf Festival, Hometown Fair, Concerts in the Park, Pumpkins Races, and Holiday Fireworks to name a few. The City also has an award winning school district that has attained national recognition. The Manhattan Beach Unified School District has five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school that serve the community.
