The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a global centre for teaching, learning and research, consistently ranked among the top 20 public universities in the world and recently recognized as North America’s most international university. The Department of Wood Science was formed in 1982 as one of the three departments including Forest and Conservation Sciences and Forest Resources Management that comprise the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia. The Department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs leading to BSc, and MSc, MASc and PhD degrees, respectively. The undergraduate program includes advanced wood products processing, industrial processing technology, business management and marketing, and science, engineering and biotechnology. The graduate degrees are offered in many fields related to wood science & technology, biotechnology and the forest products industry, processing and business.
