Job Details
Cecil County Department of Land Use and Development Services- Division of Development Plans Review, is seeking a Plans Reviewer 2 with a minimum starting hourly rate of $22.62. This position reviews plans and permits to ensure compliance with County codes in the areas of stormwater management, road and/or utility plans, grading plans, subdivision, and site development. Position reports to the Chief, Division of Planning and Zoning for direction and supervision. (Grade 117N)
Position requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, planning, geography, environmental science, or closely related field. Four (4) or more years’ experience in planning, environmental science, drafting, or engineering. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Knowledge of zoning, permits, and subdivision development principles. Ability to prepare, review, and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, maps, and other technical material. Knowledge of applicable local, state, and Federal codes, guidelines, regulations, and standards. Knowledge of the inspection process. Ability to perform technical research. a valid driver’s license.
Duties: Reviews and interprets plans and permits to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. Interacts with consultants and developers as necessary. Prepares costs estimates, performance guarantees, inspection and maintenance agreements, and other documents. Prepares reports and completes special assignments. Performs reviews for fast-track and standard project submittals. Provides responses to inquiries or complaints from the general public. Performs on-site inspections of assigned sites. Establishes and maintains accurate and complete files. Reviews subdivision and development plans to assure compliance with regulations and ordinances, as required. Performs other duties as instructed and assigned.
