Senior Civil Engineer or Geotechnical Engineer for Project Management and Engineering for planning, evaluation, analyses, design and engineering during construction for projects involving water storage, water conveyance, flood control, utilities, and other infrastructure projects, including dams, levees, spillways, outlet works, channels, pipelines, retaining structures and other facilities such as Advanced Pumped Storage Projects and coastal facilities. Immediate openings are available in the Irvine, California Headquarters in southern California, as well as at the Sacramento, California Branch Office, and in the near future in one of the other branch offices in Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Florida and Pennsylvania. All current locations of candidates will be considered. Projects will be located in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Texas, Florida, other states and in U.S. Territories. There are immediate and near-term openings for the following levels: Project or Senior Civil Engineer or Geotechnical Engineer with an active Professional Engineering Registration (P.E.) from any State and a minimum of 8 years of hands-on engineering experience, including at least 5 years on large heavy civil multidisciplinary projects in the U.S. requiring compliance with required technical criteria, such as those published by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, with at least 2 years of experience in Project Management. Preference is for candidates with an MS Degree or PhD in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited college or university for civil engineering. Preference is also given to candidates with formal Project Management training. Specialized experience is preferred in one or more of the following fields: civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydrology, hydraulics, dam breach modeling and mapping, structural engineering, coastal engineering, geological engineering, construction engineering, and project management. Projects would include the design, evaluation, inspection, assessment, construction and rehabilitation of dams, levees and other water retaining structures, flood control, wastewater or hydropower facilities in the United States, including earth, rockfill, concrete and roller compacted concrete (RCC) structures, levees, pipelines, channels, hydraulic structures, spillways, reservoir outlet works, and pump stations. A Master's Degree or higher is preferred for all positions, but a lesser degree will be considered based on experience and location. Requirements also include strong computer skills, hands-on experience using SharePoint and/or other collaboration and document exchange programs, excellent communications and writing skills, and evidence of success in working well with other staff and clients as part of a responsive, technical and professional team.
