The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Princeton University invites applications for tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor with a focus on three emerging areas: (1) environmental engineering with a focus on water, climate, or environmental biotechnology, (2) robotics with a focus on autonomous systems or sustainable construction, and (3) urban systems and engineering with a focus on sustainable, resilient cities of the future.

Candidates must have the ability and motivation to develop a vigorous independent research program and to participate in collaborative efforts of the faculty.  There is a preferred start date of September 1, 2022. A Ph.D. degree in an appropriate field is required.

The successful candidate would join a dynamic department with world class undergraduate and graduate programs in civil and environmental engineering. Applicants should have interest in, and competence for, teaching foundational undergraduate and advanced graduate courses in CEE while embracing the many transdisciplinary connections across Princeton. An appointment may be made jointly with another department or program.

The department is committed to fostering an academic environment that acknowledges and encourages diversity and inclusivity. The successful candidate will show the potential to pursue academic excellence in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings, and will demonstrate intent and proficiency in fostering these ideals.

Review of applications will begin November 15, 2021 and continue until the position is filled. Applicants should apply online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/22163 and should submit their application cover letter, CV, contact information for three references, three separate statements of (1) research, (2) teaching vision, and (3) diversity, access and inclusion, in addition to a single paper that they feel best represents their research and potential for future scholarship.
