The University of Notre Dame's Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering & Earth Sciences (CEEES) invites applications for a non-tenure-track, endowed teaching faculty position which will shape and build our university's future construction-related course offerings at both departmental and campus-wide levels. The conditions and responsibilities for this position are as follows:

 

Braun Teaching Professor in Construction Engineering and Management - This full-time academic-year appointment will be made within the University of Notre Dame's Civil & Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences (CEEES) department, in partnership with the University's Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate (FIRE). Position responsibilities will primarily include construction engineering management (CEM) course development and delivery. These academic efforts are expected to have both departmental and campus-wide impact, and to extend across multiple academic disciplines. Additional course delivery activities may include graduate-level CEM course delivery within the department's new professional-focused Master of Engineering degree program. This position will also carry non-teaching responsibilities aligned with student advising, program development and management, and industry networking to advance the CEEES department's rapidly escalating construction-focused goals.

 

We are looking for a faculty member to help catalyze our university's academic alignment within construction engineering and management disciplines, who will share and advance Notre Dame's commitment to outstanding student teaching and advising. Doctoral-level candidates are preferred with demonstrated multi-year expertise in construction engineering and/or management (or a closely related discipline). This faculty appointment will also be expected to actively support and help create a climate of excellence and diversity, and will contribute to the department's efforts to attract and retain a diverse student body.

Qualifications:

 

We are looking for a faculty member to help build our university’s academic alignment with in construction engineering and management. Candidates must demonstrate experience and/or promise of outstanding teaching ability. Candidates also should possess a strong commitment to both teaching and advising, and should contribute to the department’s efforts to attract and retain a diverse study body. A graduate degree in construction management or engineering, or a closely related discipline, is strongly desirable. Candidates who possess outstanding professional experience in construction plus a doctoral degree in a related field are highly preferred.
