Job Details

This position will supervise survey operations, assemble, and evaluate survey data relating to construction, location, and right of way projects within the MnDOT Metro District.  This position will determine r/w boundary lines, property lines and perform plat retracement & PLS retracement surveys.  This position will produce technically precise data and documents consistent with MnDOT standards and policies, as well as State and Federal Laws.  This position will also supervise Metro Surveys staff to include: Transportation Specialists, Transportation Generalist/Sr. and Engineering Specialists.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants must be licensed as a professional Land Surveyor with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through Comity (Reciprocity). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
  • Professional experience as a Land Surveyor with expertise in land and construction surveying.
  • Experience utilizing modern survey equipment and methods.
  • Knowledge of computers and various software packages such as Micro Station, Geopak, Word and Excel. 
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
