Job Description:
Siefert Associates, LLC is seeking an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer. This position works under the supervision of a Geotechnical Project Manager as a team member participating in all phases of a project including interface with structural and construction engineers. An Assistant Geotechnical Engineer’s responsibilities include the preparation of engineering calculations, design drawings, and engineering reports; the review of boring logs and laboratory test results for soil samples and development of design soil parameters. Site work includes inspection of existing and as-built conditions, and monitoring of subsurface Exploration & other relevant soil testing as needed.
Services include support of excavation for heavy construction, cofferdams, underpinning, rock excavation stability, installation of waterfront structures, utility protection, deep and shallow foundations, slope stability, crane and other construction equipment surcharge, permanent and temporary retaining walls, various methods of soil improvement and forensic investigations. Previous construction experience in any capacity is preferred.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (will consider candidates pursuing night school with at least ½ of program completed)
- E.I.T. certification
- Experience (0-2 years)
Additional Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively, in a team setting, with both co-workers and clients, from diverse engineering and construction backgrounds.
