Senior Civil Engineer

This position reports directly to the Principle Civil Engineer/ City Engineer and the director of Public Works, and performs advanced professional civil engineering tasks with minimal supervision such as performing complex and technical engineering plan and systems reviews; provides project leadership and technical guidance to engineering staff, consultants, work groups and/or other staff. Engineer must have CIP experience with, for and/or at public agencies, cities and/or counties, which includes street improvements, traffic signals, storm water, sewers, recycled water, irrigation, landscape, and Right of Way (ROW). This position will assist in implementing the current $69.5 million CIP which involves 117 projects. The ideal candidate should have experience with engineering designs and construction of infrastructure projects, have CAD knowledge, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with others and negotiation skills. Applicants must possess a valid Civil Engineering license (PE) in the State of California. It is preferred that the candidate have a minimum of fifteen years of professional civil engineering experience and have graduated from an ABET accredited or university with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in civil engineering
