Mechanical Engineer V (SR-26)
Performs difficult professional engineering work in supervising and participating in the design, installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems, and/or in the review and analysis of plans and specifications for mechanical engineering features and compliance with code requirements; and performs other related duties as required.
The currency vacancy performs difficult professional mechanical engineering work, including but not limited to, preparing departmental mechanical standards; reviewing and coordinating design of all mechanical plans and specifications prepared by private mechanical engineering consultants with emphasis on energy savings and air conditioning system design, installation, maintenance and operation. The position is responsible for the mechanical engineering program of the division and assists in the planning and implementation of a City-wide energy conservation program; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancies: There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Design and Construction, Mechanical/Electrical Division. List may be used to fill vacancies in this and/or other departments.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: One year of registered professional mechanical engineering experience.
- Current State of Hawaii registration as a professional engineer in Mechanical Engineering.
- Applicants with a current out-of-state license in Mechanical Engineering must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.
