Transportation Project Manager/Engineer

Under the direction of the City Engineer and with office support from the engineering department, provides project management and technical expertise as the City’s representative for the planning and review of proposed public and private transportation projects. Working with Transportation Planning, provides preliminary design input, technical expertise, cost estimating, preparing preliminary project schedules, and feasibility reports that will be used when submitting for city capital, state, and federal funding. After funding is received, this position serves as the project manager for City transportation capital improvement projects and provides project management from concept to construction during the design and construction of transportation-related projects. Requires oversight and management of various consultant contracts that perform design, construction document preparation, and construction management services.  These projects range in scope from small active transportation-related projects to multimillion-dollar large roadway improvements that include utility modifications and right of way impacts.
