My client is a specialist services in remediation, geo-environmental and geodetic consultancy that allow their clients to manage ground risks. They are looking for a geo environmental engineer to join their busy family business in London.
Primary Job Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role will depend on specific project requirements but are likely to include:
Sitework
Conducting site reconnaissance and monitoring activities, including ground gas monitoring and groundwater sampling
Liaison with ground investigation subcontractors and laboratories
Implementation and supervision of intrusive ground investigations
Assisting / carrying out topographic / site surveying, setting out etc.
Office based work
Preparing health and safety documentation, booking subcontractors and scheduling soil and water samples for analytical and geotechnical testing
CAD production of survey
GIS work and interrogation of data
Contributing to technical reports and deliverables
The ideal applicant
You will have graduated with a degree in civil engineering, engineering geology, earth or environmental science and a post graduate degree in a relevant engineering or science specialism will be preferable. You will have one to two years' industry experience with an understanding of geo-environmental industry engineering including contaminated land and waste management.
You will have:
An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject (Geology, Earth Science, Chemistry, Environmental or Engineering related discipline)
Knowledge of contaminated land and planning legislation would be an advantage
Experience of preparing and assisting with interpretative reports
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ability to work as part of a small team and build positive working relationships
A high level of personal responsibility and adaptable and flexible approach to different project requirements.
A full, clean driving licence
