Civil Design Engineer

CIVIL ENGINEER

This is a great opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join a highly regarded, award winning Civil and Structural Engineering team in Derby. This relatively new office has grown organically into a team of over 25, including Civil and Structures, Transportation, and Geo-environmental teams.

As an ICE approved employer, our client can support your professional development in working towards either Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status. Their in-house Supervising Civil Engineers and Delegated Engineers will be pleased to support your training.

Your role will include:

Collaborating as a member of a growing multi-disciplinary consultancy.
Operating across a range of projects
Undertaking scheme development, preliminary and detailed designs and project coordination.
Working in a design office environment, while also playing an active role in design and site meetings, site inspections and progress reporting.
Good communication and effective liaison with clients, architects, contractors and regulatory/statutory authorities are therefore considered key attributes.What they are looking for

BEng, MEng, HND or HNC Civil Engineering qualification, with at least two years' experience gained in a civil engineering design office environment.
Working knowledge of Section 104, 278 and 38 adoption procedures.
Excellent analysis and technical design skills in AutoCAD, PDS, Civils3D and MicroDrainage.
Experience working with residential developers.
Working knowledge of the SAB Approval process and SuDS-led design principles and details.
Knowledge of UK planning procedures and experience of providing technical support to secure planning approval.
Experience of securing technical approvals from highway and drainage authorities.
Confident written and verbal communicator.
Self-motivated team player with good people skills.What you can expect
