We are supporting one of our clients who are currently seeking to recruit a qualified, competent and experienced Civils Site Engineer. With civil engineering contract works throughout Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire and the wider North West, this presents an opportunity to join one of the UK's leading multi discipline Civil Engineering and Building Contractors. An excellent remuneration package will be available to the successful candidate, together with the all-important long term opportunities to develop and progress your career further within a dedicated team.
Main duties will include; to ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, undertake surveying and setting out duties, check drawings and quantities and schedule selected materials for ordering from the procurement department. Plan the work and efficiently organise site operations in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines. Liaise with any consultants and sub-contracts engaged in the project as necessary. Supervise and monitor the site labour force and monitor the work of any sub-contractors. Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise during the construction process.
Other duties:
* Arrange testing of materials
* Undertake the testing and calibration of instruments used
* Keep a Site Diary
* Fully interact with other members of the construction site team (team player)
* Be responsible for the implementation & control of site Quality Management System/ ITPs
* Introduce improvements and innovation where appropriate to areas of responsibility
* Other duties as required by the Site Manager to facilitate construction of the works
Essential Experience / Skills
* Candidates will have a strong background in surveying, civil works, and preparation of technical specifications and reports and in the planning, supervision, and interpretation of Civil engineering Works.
* Setting out Experience is Essential
* Demonstrate strong communication skills
* Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in the UK
Essential Qualifications
* Candidates should have a HND/ degree in Civil Engineering/ Surveying or related discipline.
* Full Driving License
* SMSTS qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
* Must hold a valid CSCS Card
