Location: Glasgow and Warrington

Salary Description: Dependent on experience

Our client is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified Graduate Engineer to work on a broad variety of projects. The position will offer the right individual the opportunity to work for a well-established and growing environmental consultancy.

The successful candidate will take a key role in contributing to a range of significant projects including large energy developments, residential and mixed-use schemes, infrastructure, aggregates and commercial projects. You will be given plenty of opportunity to develop your skills and expertise through ongoing mentoring and training in a friendly environment. The ideal candidate will have an excellent technical focus as well as report writing ability in order to contribute to the delivery of EIAs and discharge of conditions for large projects.

  • Conducting various technical assessments for projects
  • Providing support to Senior Environmental/Engineering Consultants
  • Use of various industry and in-house software packages
  • Undertaking site visits and attending client meetings
  • Engaging with other in-house multi-disciplinary team members
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities and statutory consultees

Essential Criteria
  • Degree educated in Environmental Engineering or similar (will consider hydrology, acoustics or transport)
  • An ability to work independently when necessary and meet tight deadlines under pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detail and working to the highest standards
  • Full driving license
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Own transport (required within 3 months of starting role)

Desirable Criteria
  • Good knowledge and understanding of UK legislation
  • Demonstrable high level of technical competence gained in a consultancy environment
  • Experienced in GIS and other software packages
