Mechanical Design Engineer - District Energy

A leading design consultancy are recruiting for an experienced Design Engineer. Do you have experience in the energy sector? Or have you provided engineering advice and technical solutions across a wide range of energy related projects such as district heating and cooling networks? If so then this could be he role for you!

This role offers a variety of work;

• Design work across all stages of the project lifecycle;
• The sizing of major plant and equipment for large scale district energy schemes
• Site based review and support works
• Client facing activities
• Co-ordination of internal and external design and project resources
• Undertaking of detailed design calculations
• Writing of technical documentation including project design drawings, specifications
• Writing of sub-contractor scopes and major plant documentation;
• Creation of PFD's, P&ID's

The following experience is required for this role;

• A minimum of 1/2 years' experience in a related role or relevant field of engineering
• 3D CAD/ mechanical design
• Understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, energy transfer and stressanalysis
• Experience of or a working understanding of district heating schemes or knowledge of heating/ cooling network funding mechanisms is desirable

Salary on offer for the role is £40,000-£45,000 depending on your experience and offer a degree of flexibility with the opportunity to work from home some of the week.
