A state-of-the-art R&D laboratory facility supporting the development and testing of novel battery designs is now looking for a Process Development Engineer. This role is for a Senior Process Engineer in the Energy Storage Team, to drive scale up of manufacturing processes within pilot production facilities.

The Senior Process Development Engineer Will:
  • Evaluate current unit operations and processes and apply industry knowledge to optimise manufacturing process development.
  • Lead R&D in alternative and parallel technologies and identify potential methods of manufacture whereby significant cost or quality improvements could be realised.
  • Using data acquisition to influence decisions on projects for the prototyping and engineering of equipment.
  • Prove the production intent solution and create suitable documentation prior to handover to the manufacturing teams and partners.
  • As a team lead, you will ensure that new activities are well planned and risk assessed.
  • Develop personnel within the cell prototyping team.
  • Ensure projects for scale-up of new processes are delivered on time and in full to internal customers.
The Senior Process Development Engineer Will Have:
  • A degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Multiple years of industrial experience developing processes or products.
  • Experience of taking a product/idea/process from research (early phase) through to prototype.
  • Experience with managing Stakeholders including demonstrated decision influencing.
  • Product & process engineering for quality & value with demonstrated improvements.
  • Good understanding of the safety aspects of the proposed processes, and how these change with scale
  • Experience in fast-paced development environments, with the capability to think on their feet.
