Civil & Structural Engineer /Senior Engineer - water/rail/process/highways

We have a great opportunity for Civil & Structural Engineers and Senior Civil & Structural Engineers. Some experience in design of foundations, drainage, highways, steel and concrete would be an advantage to your application.

You will be based in Manchester with hybrid home/office working and with occasional visits to other offices and site.

The senior requirement requires working with minimal supervision or guidance and the fundamental requirement of this role is to work with existing design teams including carrying out feasibility studies, reference designs, detailed designs, and preparing reports and technical specifications and proposals for water related infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for key local and regional clients.

More junior roles will work alongside more experienced engineers and provide an excellent opportunity for career development.

About the project
You will be working with our civil and structural engineering team, delivering analysis, calculations, reports and specifications for projects in a range of sectors, including water, rail and highways. The Senior Civil & Structural Engineer is focused around water/wastewater clients, so requires candidates to have knowledge and experience of design of waste water treatment works, water treatment works, waste water networks and/or potable water networks, pumping stations and reservoirs

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare preliminary and detailed design analysis, calculations, specifications and related documentation for civil and structural temporary and permanent works
• Communicate designs effectively to the BIM teams
• Challenge and deliver value engineering solutions
• Supervised and mentored by our senior engineers in a friendly teamwork environment
Take responsibility for leading small projects and sub tasks from a technical perspective
• For senior engineers Communicate effectively with other disciplines and construction teams and communicate confidently and authoritatively with clients, challenging where needed in order to deliver value engineering solutions
• Support and guide more junior team members

For Civil & Structural Engineers:

• You will have a minimum BEng Civil or Structural Engineering, preferably working towards Chartered status
• Good general IT skills
• Good problem solving, presentation and communications (written and verbal) skills
• Some experience in design of foundations, drainage, highways, steel and concrete an advantage

For Senior engineers:

• Minimum BEng Civil or Structural Engineering
• Must be Chartered or near Chartered with ICE or IStructE
• Have experience in the full cycle of project design delivery from inception to detailed design
• Have knowledge and experience of design of waste water treatment works, water treatment works, waste water networks and/or potable water networks, pumping stations and reservoirs
• Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams and able to provide technical monitoring to Graduate Engineers and technicians
