Commercial Director - Civil Engineering

They have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Director to join our team.
You will be based at our head office in Manchester.
As with all roles of this nature, flexibility is afforded to the right candidate.
Main duties include: Monitor and influence performance of the company.
Liaise with Finance Director on a regular basis to discuss items such as cash collection, subcontractor issues, CVRs and any other relevant item that may be required from time to time.
Monitor various internal reports and liaise with regional staff where relevant
Review contract agreements to ensure compliance with company procedures and correct. Detailed review of site CVR's on specific projects to check for accuracy and consistency, with particular reference to key projects (as defined by the amber report requirements)
Provide feedback and commentary to the Board on projects which you identify as possible high risk Regular visits to the regional offices and sites to provide commercial support and guidance to the Regional Directors and Managing Quantity Surveyors.
Provide support to the Board when required Provide the link between the Board and the Region Maintain sufficient resources to support the commercial objectives of the company.
Identify potential risks and evaluate options for control. Prepare, submit and negotiate the resolution of disputes with the assistance of the regional and site staff where necessary.
Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements. Encourage the personal development of all commercial staff.
Are you the person we are looking for?
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills along with strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, and ICE contracts, with the ability to manage contract administration.
You will have a degree level qualification or experience with RICS or equivalent qualification as well as experience of detailed CVR reporting and taking an active and questioning role in project reviews.
We are looking for someone with proven experience as a successful Commercial Manager / Director with a Sub or Main Contractor.
A UK driving license is mandatory for this role along with the right to live and work in the UK.
