The Role:

The Geotechnical Engineer will play an essential role in the ECI phase of projects. Ground investigation will need to be delivered to internal and external client satisfaction levels. Works could range from the East of England to Scotland and will mainly consist of groundworks surrounding structures and improvement projects. The candidate will need to be flexible in terms of travel and working hours and will sometimes be required to lodge out. There will also be weeks where you will be working from the office based in Glasgow.

Overseeing drilling on site will be a key part of this role, collecting samples using state of the are drilling machinery.

The Geotechnical Engineer will use specialist software to schedule lab tests and create a visual representation to what type of ground is expected in each location. When results are back these must be sent to the client and other stakeholders and expertise and reports must be provided.

BS5 930 reports will be logged with discoveries made about the ground and its consistency. This work is essential and will dictate the costs required to complete a project.

Renumeration:

Basic salary is subject to experience and is accompanied with generous holiday entitlement. They will also upkeep funding for any relevant required tickets and qualification and a path that can lead to becoming Chartered or up the Engineering ladder.

The right candidate will also receive a vehicle or car as transportation of equipment from site to site will be part of the role.

About you:

A Geotechnical Engineer has a background and 2 -3 years' experience in Infrastructure, Oil and Gas, Rail, Highways or Water? A minimum bachelor's and a master's degree in environmental, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Geography, Earth Sciences or similar is required

You will also require a full and clean UK driving license.
