Senior Engineer/Project Manager

As a key member of the Water Infrastructure Team at RPS, your role as Senior Engineer/Project Manager is critical to helping us deliver great projects for our Water Industry clients. You will be working alongside a team of water project experts including Project Managers, Designers, Site Supervisors, Process Specialists and MEICA experts on a range of capital delivery projects.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working within a large team of Project Managers, civil engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, health and safety specialists, drainage modellers, environmental specialists, and geotechnical specialists.
  • Undertaking and/or managing site surveys of existing water and wastewater infrastructure assets.
  • Liaising with utility companies and other statutory bodies.
  • Preparing conceptual, schematic and detailed design of water and wastewater infrastructure assets including treatment works, pumping stations, sewers and pumping mains
  • Preparation of Appraisal Reports and Business Cases,
  • Supervision of Graduate Engineers and Technicians,
  • Preparing contract documentation for construction projects.
  • Managing construction projects.
  • Site supervision of construction projects.
  • Leading design team meetings and client liaison meetings as appropriate.
  • Business development and preparation of marketing submissions.


Who we're looking for:

  • BEng/BSc/MEng Honours degree in a relevant engineering or Project Management course
  • Be working towards Chartered Membership (ICE, CIWEM, IEI or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in wastewater or water infrastructure design or project management
  • Good communication skills and ability to engage with all members of the project team
  • You should demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • A full driving licence.
