Taylor Engineering, Inc. seeks to hire a team-oriented and production-focused Professional Civil Engineer to join our Jacksonville, Florida office. This professional will support the organization as necessary to accomplish the mission through work in several areas including planning, project management, permitting, design, engineering, and construction administration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or other applicable engineering disciplines; preferably with Master of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 6-20 years in engineering practice related to below-noted project types; duties and responsibilities; and skills and experience
  • Registration: Florida Professional Engineer (PE) or Florida Structural Engineer (SE)

Typical Projects Involve:

  • Dredged material management planning
  • Dredged material management infrastructure and facilities
  • Dredging
  • Site development including grading, drainage, and utilities
  • Marine structures such as seawalls, bulkheads, marine foundations, docks, piers, ship terminals, marinas, boat ramps, and shoreline protection
  • Other water resources, coastal, and waterfront facilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents for marine, waterfront, coastal, and water resources facilities
  • Communicating with various municipality, utility, and government regulating agencies
  • Construction observation and construction phase engineering
  • Successfully managing multiple projects to ensure task completion on time and within budget
  • Participating in business development activities and maintaining/building strong, long-term client relationships

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Grading and earthworks design for large scale projects
  • Design for earthen impoundments, dikes, levees, etc.
  • Stormwater and hydraulic control structure design
  • Design for gravity-flow pipelines
  • Design for jack-and-bore and directional drill installation for large diameter (24-in to 60-in) pipelines under roadways and rail lines
  • Structural engineering design for marine structures such as seawalls, bulkheads, marine foundations, docks, piers, ship terminals, marinas, boat ramps, and shoreline protection installations
  • Dredging and dredged material management design
  • Development of design calculations, engineering reports, and construction documents
  • Construction management for heavy civil construction projects
  • Project management and leadership
  • Business development

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to (35) pounds unassisted
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Possesses acceptable vision (with or without corrective lenses) to be able to see and navigate a computer screen
  • Ability to go out into the field and construction sites
