About the role

Dewey Group has an exciting opportunity with a prestigious ground engineering and geotechnical company looking to recruit a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the team.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in the in-house division, you will be responsible for key achievements, ensuring project engineers working under you accomplish assigned duties to their clients. Working within the framework of a team to deliver project specifications.

Your time will be split between office and site, where you will be involved in geotechnical design, report writing and ground investigation. As part of this role, you will share your knowledge and findings with their engineers and support them in their daily tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Geo-Technical lead on high profile frameworks such as Rail and highways projects

* Contaminated land assessment and making recommendation for site remediation using appropriate best practice and technical guidance

* Planning, execution and reporting of Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigations

* The delivery of geotechnical projects and reports with working knowledge of UK design codes

* Liaising with Clients and Regulators

* On-site investigation work, analysis, production and checking of technical

* Provide technical input into tendering and delivery of projects

Key Skills and Experience:

Essential:

* Experience in using Ground Investigation Data Management software

* Relevant University degree, BEng or BSc or equivalent in Geology, Geotechnics, Environmental Science or similar

* Experience in managing large and small ground investigation projects

* Extensive knowledge of soil geotechnical properties, ground investigation techniques, exploratory hole logging/sampling and laboratory testing methodologies

* Full driving license required

Beneficial:

* Experience implementing and working with GIS systems for GI management purposes

* Knowledge and experience of using standards and good practice around a variety of areas

* Experience in role of investigation supervisor or contractors responsible engineer

Person Specification:

* The ability to prioritise workload to the benefit of themselves and the team

* Confidence in working in a high pressured, fast-paced environment

* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office

* A responsive, constructive and flexible attitude towards working arrangements within a team environment

* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail

* Creative thinker with the ability to use own initiative
