Graduate Structural Design Engineer

Express Recruitment are continuing to supply one of the UKs leading manufacturers and suppliers within the Construction and Civil Engineering industries. Due to a healthy project pipeline and continued success with their well-renowned post graduate scheme, our client is seeking a highly attentive and methodical thinking Graduate Design Coordinator to join their talented team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Design Coordinators with their ongoing projects, whilst managing the communication between the clients design representatives and the engineers, to ensure drawings are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

In return, you can expect to receive a competitive starting salary of up to £26,000, including pension, enhanced company sick pay, free site parking, sponsored training, and the opportunity to earn a quarterly performance related bonus.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the design coordination and CAD technician teams with ongoing project support
• Act as first point of contact for client design engineers to understand design specifications
• Take note of any modifications needed to drawings, prior to issuing completed tech packages to engineers
• Prepare and update control design programmes and tech packages to ensure manufacturers can complete the installation programme by the approved deadlines
• Attend client meetings with design team to ensure stringent requirements are incorporated into the final design
• Inspect final building drawings to ensure all relevant details and measurements are correct based on latest client specifications
• Ensure full adherence to company codes and practices
• Liaise frequently with site installation department heads to inform them of any programme changes

Skills & Experience

• Architectural/Civil Engineering degree or similar field
• Proficient user of AutoCAD packages
• Previous user experience of Revit, Tekla or other 3D modelling packages desirable
• Experience with planning software (StruSoft) preferred but not essential
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Full UK Driving Licence including own transport
